Haunted Mansion in Disney Crossy Road!

A few weeks ago, I told you guys about Disney Magic Kingdoms, a mobile game that allowed you to “build” a Disney theme park. Today, I have a new app that I’m actually more excited about. There’s admittedly less of the Disney Parks-inspired items, but it has one huge player: the Haunted Mansion!

Disney Crossy Road Haunted Mansion
Yes, that is Madame Leota as a playable character.

To give you an idea, Crossy Road is a Frogger-style game using 8-bit graphics (think original Nintendo games). Your mission is simple: get as far as you can before getting squished or slammed. Crossy Road existed before this using a number of different characters (including Pac-Man, so it’s worth checking out for that reason alone). Disney Crossy Road, not to be too obvious, takes the same mechanics but applies it to purely Disney characters.

Most of the playable characters are based on movie properties. As of today, the following categories are available: Jungle Book (based on the new live action movie, but classic Baloo and King Louie are unlockable), Zootopia, Mickey Mouse & Friends, Toy Story, The Lion King, Big Hero 6, Tangled, Inside Out, and Wreck-It Ralph. The Haunted Mansion is the only Disney Parks group from which you can choose.

I think you’ll love this game. I actually like it even more than Disney Magic Kingdoms. You will want to be collecting coins as you go, because these allow you to buy a spin on a prize machine (like the ones you see with candy and cheap plastic toys at the grocery store) that unlocks characters. It gives you something to come back for.

Disney Crossy Road is available on these platforms:
